Every operation under one roof.
Grinding, honing, lapping, and air gauge inspection in-house. Nothing goes to an outside vendor, so tolerances and traceability hold from first cut to final measurement.
Precision Grinding
Surface, OD, and ID grinding, journals, and bores. Size, geometry, and finish held to print in soft or hardened material.
Precision Honing
Bore honing for size, roundness, and controlled crosshatch finish. Engine cylinders, liners, and hydraulic bores sized to their mating parts.
Exotic & Hard Alloys
We cut Inconel, titanium, 17-4 PH stainless, and aerospace aluminum every day, including heat-resistant superalloys that are hard on tooling.
Precision Lapping
OD, ID, and flat lapping for surfaces that must seal on contact. Straightness and roundness held to 20 millionths of an inch.
Air Gauge Inspection
Air gauge inspection station by Western Gage, measuring to 10 millionths of an inch. Size and roundness verified to 20 millionths.
Prototype to Production
One proof-of-concept part or a repeatable low and mid-volume run, with process documentation that travels with the job.

For more than three decades, JTR Specialties has machined the parts that aerospace and defense programs rely on. Our machinists treat every tolerance as a commitment. In this work, a part that is only close to print is a part that gets scrapped.
Based in South El Monte, CA, we work with OEMs, primes, and tier suppliers who need complex parts done right the first time, fully documented, and on schedule. That work comes from across Los Angeles and from customers nationwide, in Pennsylvania, Texas, Montana, and Chicago.
